Non-Human Primate Cells
HumanCells’ non-human primate (NHP) hematologic products include whole blood, bone marrow, and isolated cells.
All our Non-Human Primate samples are collected from animals housed within the United States. You can choose from Cynomolgus or Rhesus. You can also specify male or female. All our NHP products are from healthy primates that have tested negative for SIV, STLV, SRV, and Herpes B.
Non-Human primate whole blood is taken by venipuncture from healthy naive rhesus and cynomolgus non-human primates. We provide whole blood in heparin tubes as a default anticoagulant, but this can be customized to any anticoagulant.
NHP bone marrow aspirate
Bone marrow is the sponge-like tissue located in the median of the long bones. The primary function of the bone marrow is to provide erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelets to the body. Since this is the primary function, the bone marrow is rich in stem cells. These cells can be used for many research purposes. HumanCells’ Non-Human Primate bone marrow product is drawn into a syringe containing heparin as an anticoagulant.
NHP primary cells
HumanCell’s NHP primary cells are isolated from freshly drawn NHP whole blood from naive animals by density gradient. Pan-T CD3+ cells can be further isolated from NHP PBMCs by immunomagnetic selection. Researchers can request males or females, specific ages and have the animals reserved for longer term projects.
We recommend handling all products with precautions at biological safety level 2 (BSL2). When handling these products do not use sharps such as needles and syringes. HumanCells cannot guarantee the biological function or any other properties associated with a performance of cells in a researcher’s individual assay or culture systems.
