Human Healthy Donor Off-the-clot Serum
SKU : FP-006-C10
Serum is the fluid and solvent component of blood which does not play a role in clotting. It may be defined as blood plasma without the clotting factors, or as blood with all cells and clotting factors removed. Our Off-the-clot human serum is obtained by allowing whole blood collected without an anticoagulant to naturally coagulate. The human serum sample (fluid portion) is then collected and the fibrin clot is removed.
- Perform venipuncture to collect whole blood in Vacutainer tubes without anticoagulant.
- Gently invert the tubes eight times.
- Allow the blood to clot upright at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Centrifuge for at least 15 minutes at 2500 RPM.
- Collect the serum.
- Filter the serum through 0.2µm-filtration.
HumanCells' human serum product is collected from fully consented IRB approved donors that are tested negative for HIV, HBV and HCV.
